Daily devotion
Finding Lasting Shelter in God’s Care
God calls us to seek refuge in Him, offering protection from adversity and a peace that endures when we place our full trust in His faithful presence.

“Because you have made Yahweh your refuge, and the Most High your dwelling place, no evil shall happen to you, neither shall any plague come near your dwelling.”
Reflection
Psalm 91:9-10 reveals a vital truth: by choosing God as our refuge and making the Most High our dwelling, we invite His protection over our lives. This promise does not guarantee a life free from hardship, but assures us that God’s presence shields us from ultimate harm. Trusting in God means relying on His strength amid fear or uncertainty, intentionally living in His presence to nurture unshakable security. When we commit to God as our sanctuary, we embrace a peace that guards our hearts from evil or trouble. Our confidence springs not from our own defenses but from God’s steadfast and watchful care.
Put it into practice
Today, fix your thoughts and heart on God as your refuge. When anxiety arises, remind yourself that dwelling with Him offers true safety. Let trust in His protection shape your decisions and attitudes.
A prayer for today
Loving God, thank You for being my refuge and protector. Help me choose You daily as my dwelling place, trusting deeply in Your promises. May Your peace shield me from fear, and may I rest securely in Your constant care. Amen.
