Love That Sacrifices for Others
True love is revealed through Christ's sacrificial example, urging us to care selflessly and commit genuinely to others.

“By this we know love, because he laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers.”
Reflection
1 John 3:16 reveals the profound love Jesus showed by willingly giving His life for us. This teaches that love calls for intentional sacrifice, not just feelings. If Jesus gave Himself completely, we are called to follow by sacrificially supporting and loving those around us. This means overcoming convenience, pride, or fear to offer help, encouragement, or protection. Such love moves beyond words into transformative action, embodying God's dependable and giving heart.
Put it into practice
Today, find ways to show sacrificial love. Identify someone needing your time or encouragement and reach out with a heart shaped by Christ.
A prayer for today
Lord Jesus, thank You for laying down Your life and showing the true meaning of love. Help me love others selflessly, willing to sacrifice comfort for their sake. Teach me to live out Your love each day. Amen.
