Grace That Brings New Life
God's abundant mercy and love make us alive with Christ, rescuing us from spiritual death by grace, not by our works or merit.

“But God, being rich in mercy, for his great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead through our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),”
Reflection
Ephesians 2:4-5 reveals the heart of God toward us: rich in mercy and overflowing with love. Even when we were spiritually dead because of our trespasses, God acted to make us alive together with Christ. This transformation is purely by grace — a gift freely given, not earned. Such grace calls us to marvel at God's initiative, humbling us and encouraging gratitude. It also shapes how we live, reminding us that life in Christ is rooted in undeserved kindness, not in human effort. When we understand this, we embrace a new identity marked by freedom, hope, and peace.
Put it into practice
Today, remember that your spiritual life is a gift from God’s grace. Let gratitude guide your attitude and actions toward yourself and others.
A prayer for today
Merciful God, thank You for loving me when I was dead in my sins and making me alive with Christ by Your grace. Help me to live gratefully and to reflect Your mercy to others each day. Amen.
