Sincere Love that Anchors Our Lives
Genuine love frees us to reject evil and embrace good, shaping our actions and relationships.

“Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor that which is evil. Cling to that which is good.”
Reflection
The call to love without hypocrisy invites us to examine the heart behind our actions. It's an invitation to authentic relationships where love is sincere, not performative or superficial. To abhor evil means to develop a deep aversion to anything that harms others or separates us from God's goodness. Clinging to what is good requires deliberate choosing—holding fast to kindness, truth, and integrity even when circumstances are challenging. This triad—sincere love, abhorrence of evil, and embrace of good—guides us to live in harmony with God’s will and reflect His character to those around us.
Put it into practice
Today, consider small ways to show genuine love that reflects your heart, let go of attitudes or behaviors that feel harmful, and intentionally hold on to acts of kindness and truth you encounter.
A prayer for today
Gracious God, teach me to love with a sincere heart, free from pretense. Help me to turn away from what is harmful, and to hold tightly to all that is good and pleasing in Your sight. Shape my words and deeds so they reflect Your love in truth and goodness. Amen.
